A: The age range is 4-9 years of age.
Q: Is the series designed to teach reading?
A: The goal of Traveling Bear is to teach children values and acceptable behavior through reading The Traveling Bear books, listening to the CD and playing the game. This series does not actually teach children to read.
Q: Is the series for readers or non-readers?
A: Both - we encourage the parents to share the Traveling Bear experience with their children, and, then in turn, to encourage the child to read the stories on their own.
Q: What is the goal of the Winning Kids series?
A: Traveling Bear is dedicated to improving a child’s behavior patterns and teaching the child that positive attitudes will make situations better. These books can help provide role models, teach empathy, and transport the reader to a different world or state of mind. Each chapter in the Traveling Bear series instills traditional values like loyalty, respect, patience and cooperation. Each chapter ends with a “What’s most important” activity to reinforce the value. The activities help define and discuss the virtue and why it is important in a child's life. Parents and children discuss and circle answers to questions relating to each particular value.
Q: What life skills/character traits does the series seek to teach?
A: The series is designed to teach kids values, how to find answers through problem solving, and the importance of trying something new through Traveling Bear’s experiences. Traveling Bear teaches children the significance of finding luck through appreciation and believing that one can create his/her own luck. The series also demonstrates the importance of emulating good and positive behavior, valuing family, and thinking ahead. Children will learn that if they want something, there is a positive way to get it.Questions at the end of each story help your child recognize the positive behavioral patterns that are exemplified throughout Traveling Bears journeys.
